Cruise Route

Day 1: Port Louis, Mauritius. Departure time: 22:00. Port Louis, the capital of the African island paradise of Mauritius, is located on the west coast of the island, nestled between the Moka Mountains and the Indian Ocean. The city is a vibrant blend of urban hustle and bustle, regal elegance of past times, and multicultural coexistence. Popular attractions in the city center include the wide boulevard lined with royal palms and the market with its iron market halls. If you want to purchase something here, bargaining is the way to go. Near the harbor in the city center, a number of colonial buildings exude a feudal charm. The best view of the city can be enjoyed from Fort Adelaide, dating back to British times, perched on a small hill in the midst of the city.

The island of Mauritius itself is of volcanic origin and is therefore lined with mountain ranges. Large sugar cane plantations and dream beaches characterize the island.

Day 2: The Port, Reunion. Arrival time: 08:30. Departure time: 18:30. Duration of port stay: 10 hours. Le Port is home to the overseas port of the French island of Réunion. Located in the northwest of the island, the city offers several attractions for visitors. In addition to the beautiful beaches on the outskirts of the city, a visit to the Insectarium de la Réunion is worth it, as it features insects and a butterfly garden.

Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha is located on Algoa Bay and is the fifth largest city in South Africa. The attractive old town has retained its small-town charm, while modern buildings line the outskirts of the city. It is worth climbing the 52m high bell tower, the Campanile, which offers an excellent view over the harbor and city center. One of the oldest buildings in the city, the 1827-built parsonage, which now houses the Historical Museum, is located on Castle Hill Street. Other attractions include Fort Frederick, Market Square, the Oceanarium with a snake park, and a tropical house.

Day 8: Sea day.

Day 9: Cape Town, South Africa. Arrival time: 08:00. Day 11: Sea day.

Day 12: Luderitz, Namibia. Arrival time: 08:00. Departure time: 17:00. Duration of port stay: 9 hours. As the name suggests, Lüderitz was under German colonial rule and nowadays presents itself to visitors as a colorful small town with clear German influences. The vibrant houses, especially the Goerke House, are typical of that time and great photo opportunities.

Day 13: Walvis Bay, Namibia. Arrival time: 11:00. Departure time: 22:00. Duration of port stay: 11 hours. Walfis Bay is one of Namibia`s most important seaports and a popular destination due to its abundant fish population and diverse flora and fauna. The name hints at remnants of German colonial rule within the city. For example, the Rhenish Mission Church was built in Hamburg and is considered the oldest building in the city. Nearby, there is a large bird sanctuary that is home to thousands of flamingos.

Day 14 - 20: Sea day.

Day 21: Beach (Island of São Tiago), Cape Verde. Arrival time: 13:00. Departure time: 21:00. Duration of port stay: 8 hours. São Tiago, with its capital Praia, is the most African of the Cape Verde Islands. Especially adventurous is a ride in the "aluguer," the Cape Verdean shared taxi, to Assomada, where a large, African-style market takes place twice a week. The center of the city is the Plaça 12 de Septembro, surrounded by 19th-century buildings: to the southeast by the church Nossa Senhora da Graça and the imposing Palace of Justice, and to the southwest by the Ministry of the Interior and the Banco Comércio do Atlántico on Avenida Amilcar Cabral, which runs across the entire plateau. Also worth seeing is the new Museu Ethnográfico, located to the north of the market.

Day 22 - 23: Sea day.

Day 24: Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Tenerife), Canary Islands. Arrival time: 07:00. Departure time: 16:00. Duration of port stay: 9 hours. The island capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a friendly, vibrant city that hosts the famous botanical garden alongside picturesque streets, parks, and squares. The center of Santa Cruz is a mix of old neighborhoods and modern architecture. Nearby the city, you can find the renowned beaches Las Gaviotas and Las Teresitas. The mountain Monte de la Esperanza located in front of the city is also worth a visit, as from its summit you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the island.

Sights: Plaza de España with war memorial, museums of archaeology and anthropology, Carta Palace, Baroque church Iglesia de la Concepción, museum of painting and sculpture, Castillo de Paso Alto.

Day 25: Sea day.

Day 26: Gibraltar, Gibraltar. Arrival time: 13:00. Departure time: 20:00. Duration of port stay: 7 hours. The British city of Gibraltar is located south of the Spanish coast. The 27,300 residents are protected by a heavily fortified military and commercial port. This is due to the unique location of the peninsula of the same name, whose waterway, "The Strait of Gibraltar," is 60 km long and 14 km wide at its narrowest point, connecting the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Therefore, Gibraltar has been a site of frequent conflict throughout history: conquered by the Spanish in 1462, they had to cede the island to the British in 1704. Gibraltar was declared a British Crown Colony in 1830. However, the city and its bay are still claimed by Spain. City attractions include the Catholic Cathedral of St. Mary the Crowned, the Anglican Cathedral of "Holy Trinity," the Gibraltar Museum, and the Governor`s Palace "The Convent," where the changing of the guard can be observed several times a day. The most famous inhabitants of the famous Rock of Gibraltar are the Barbary macaques, which the British imported from North Africa in the 18th century.

Day 27: Sea day.

Day 28: Palma (Mallorca), Balearic Islands. Arrival time: 05:00. The port of Palma de Mallorca can accommodate eight cruise ships simultaneously. These can dock at the northwest or southwest docks as well as the West Pier. The city center is located about 6 to 7 km from the West Pier and about 5 km from the northwest or southwest docks. A shuttle service is available at around €9 per person, but buses also provide access to the capital of the Balearic Islands. Palma de Mallorca serves as an economic and cultural center of Mallorca. In the 13th and 14th centuries, the city evolved into a major trading hub in the western Mediterranean. Trade brought the city wealth and prestige. Most of the major historical buildings in Mallorca date back to that time. In Palma, life thrives both on the shaded boulevard Passeig des Born and in the narrow streets of the historic district. Palma, as a modern metropolis, still boasts an attractive city center with notable attractions such as the Cathedral `La Seu` with its Gothic spires, the `Almudaina` Palace, the former residence of the Mallorcan royal family, and the commercial exchange building `La Llotja`. The `Mercat Olivar` market hall, frequented by locals, is also found here.
